West Indies's Xavier Marshall set a new record for the most sixes in a one-day international innings after hammering a round dozen in his unbeaten 157 in Friday night's defeat of Canada.

Marshall, 22, also hit 11 boundaries as he produced his highest limited overs score of only 118 balls to help the West Indies to 303/4 in their 50 overs in King City.

Canada managed 254 from 47.2 overs as West Indies won by 49 runs.

The previous six-shooter inning mark of 11 was set by Sri Lanka's Sanath Jayasuriya in 1996 before Pakistani Shahid Afridi equalled the feat six months later.
