West Indian batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul slammed 77 off 85 balls as Durham Dynamos posted 178 for nine to win a rain-interrupted NatWest Pro40 League Division One match Tuesday against Nottinghamshire by six runs at Trent Bridge.

The Guyanan left-hander, who hit two sixes and eight boundaries, was still not able to prevent his teammates allowing five wickets to fall for only 15 runs in just 28 balls as Nottinghamshire's left-arm spinner Rob Ferley profited in bagging two wickets and a run-out.

That left Nottinghamshire requiring 153 from 25 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis rule.

But after Mark Wagh was forced to retire hurt with a shoulder injury having reached 50 and needing 19 runs off the last 16 balls, Notts shed six wickets for 12 runs to miss their target.

South African Ashwell Prince had an undistinguished debut as the hosts' overseas batsman with a leading edge to cover.

Wagh did step up to the mark with two consecutive sixes but pulled a muscle in his upper arm and had to withdraw.
